Obituaries: Patricia G. Manchester

obituaryPatricia “Pat” G. Manchester, 84, of Bristol, widow of William W. Manchester, died at Bristol Hospital on Sunday (May 29, 2016). Pat was born on April 30, 1932, the youngest of four children, to the late William and Celia (Hemstock) Goodrich. She was a lifelong Bristol Resident, graduating from Bristol High School. After graduation she began her career at SNET until transitioning to Bristol Bank and Trust. Later she started her most important position as wife and mother, marrying the love of her life and raising her family. She then worked with her husband, co-founding W. W. Manchester Construction until her retirement. When Pat wasn’t working she enjoyed going to the casino, beach and swimming in her pool. She also loved spending time with her family including boating and motocross. She was very involved with the First Congregational Church, attending most every Sunday. Pat is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law: Guy Manchester and his dear friend Helena Vogel, of Bristol, Mark and Donna Manchester, of Bristol, David and Darlene Manchester, of Bristol; two daughters and one son-in-law: Deborah Manchester and her dear friend Bill Lathrop, of Oxford, Donna and George Shaia, of Bristol; nine grandchildren: Michael J., Stephen M., Jordan G., and Alexandra M. Manchester, Nyla D. Vargas, Scott D. Manchester, Joshua G. Manchester, Brittany and Brooke Manchester; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Patricia was pre-deceased by her three siblings: Russell Goodrich, William Goodrich and Dorothy Jaeger. Funeral services for Patricia will begin at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, CT 06010 on Saturday (June 4, 2016) at 9AM. The Funeral procession will proceed to The First Congregational Church, 31 Maple St., Bristol where Pat’s funeral service will be celebrated at 10AM. Burial will follow with a procession to West Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home between 6 and 8PM on Friday (June 3, 2016).
