Obituaries: Shirley W. Reynolds

Shirley W. (Webster) Reynolds, 91, of Bristol, died Wednesday (June 1, 2016) at the Bristol Hospital. I was born January 29, 1925 in New Britain, CT on and was the third child of the late Lewis F. and Florence (Liversidge) Webster. I was married for 41 years to Howard D. Reynolds who was a devoted husband. I was a lifelong resident of Bristol and a graduate of Bristol High School. I worked as a secretary in the Marketing Communications Department at Superior Electric for 27 years, retiring in 1996. I was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church and a member of the Women’s Guild. I was an avid square dancer and a charter member of the Central Valley Squares. I volunteered as a Tour Guide at the American Clock & Watch Museum and the Carousel Museum. As a member of the Bristol Senior Center I volunteered as a Computer Coach and also a Volunteer Coordinator. I loved my family very much and am survived by one son, Brian H. Reynolds and his wife Lisa of Bristol; three grandchildren, Zachary H. Reynolds, Samantha L. Reynolds, and Vanessa M. Reynolds; a sister-in-law, Stephie D. Webster and several nieces and nephews. I was predeceased by one son, Gary D. Reynolds, two brothers, Kenneth L. and Merle E. Webster and one sister, Grace W. Linden and two sisters-in-law, Jennie M. Webster and Ann Marie Reynolds. I spent many happy years with my beloved fiancé and longtime companion, Robert Ibitz of Plainville who I met eight years after the death of my husband.  Funeral services for Shirley will be held on Monday (June 6, 2016) 11 A.M. at The First Congregational Church, 31 Maple St., Bristol. Burial will follow with a procession to West Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol on Sunday (June 5, 2016) between 4 and 6 P.M.
