Obituaries: Eugene J. Roy

Eugene J. Roy, 86, of Burlington, husband of Arlean (Edmonds) Roy, passed away on Friday (June 24, 2016) at Bristol Hospital.  Eugene was born in Bristol on November 12, 1929 and was a son of the late Henry and Mary (Rancourt) Roy.  He was a longtime Burlington resident, a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War, and retired from General Electric.  Eugene enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his garden and was a Volunteer Fireman for the Burlington Fire Dept. Besides his wife of 62 years, Eugene is survived by his children: Maryanne and Dennis Klimkewicz, Nancy Onorato, Gary Roy, Beverly Roy Gleason and Robert, Patricia and Mark Smith and William Roy; two sisters: Lillian Ropiak and Rosemary and Andrew Grande; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother: Roland Roy and a sister: Lorraine Ducett.   Funeral services and burial were private and at the convenience of the family. The Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol is in care of the arrangements.
