The Bristol Blues got back on track in a big way after three straight tough losses, taking the win over their western division rival, the Pittsfield Suns. Frankie Gregoire (Marist) had a huge day at the plate, coming only a triple short of the cycle, finishing the day 3-4 with five RBIs. The turning point in the game came on a Gregoire grand slam in the bottom of the third, extending the Blues lead to 7-0 at the time. Jacob Wallace (UCONN) was strong in relief, tossing 2.1 innings of one-run ball. Izzy Fuentes (Faulkner) got the start for the Blues coming in with a league-low 0.50 ERA, and led the Blues with 5.1 strong innings, striking out seven and allowing three runs, earning the win. The Blues are off tomorrow, returning to Muzzy Field on Tuesday against the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks at 7:00 PM.
