City dept. addresses water situation; asks customers to conserve

bristol city sealThe Mayor’s Office published the following letter from the Bristol Water Department:

“*State Issues Drought Advisory*
“Dear Customers,
“You may have seen on the news Monday that the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health has issued a Drought Advisory for most of the State. Currently our reservoirs are at 95% capacity, however they have been dropping quickly over the past few days. Although we are not in any water restrictions, we would like to remind all of our customers to always use water wisely. Water is a natural resource that can diminish quickly and the lack of precipitation over the past two months has not replenished the reservoirs and aquifer. Again, we are not issuing any restrictions at this time but simply asking customers to be conscious of their water use. If you ever have any questions on your water, please feel free to contact our office at (860) 582-7431.
“Sincerely,
Bristol Water Department”
