Claire B. (Bousquet) Bossi, 80, of Bristol, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, June 27, 2016. She was the loving wife of the late Romeo Bossi with whom she had cherished 31 years of marriage before his passing in 1991. Born on May 4, 1936 in Winooski, VT, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Blanche (Vein) Bousquet.
Claire was devoted to her faith and a member of St. Gregory the Great Church as a part of their Rosary Society. She also kept active in the community participating in the Women’s Club of Bristol. She loved to travel with her friends and family including cruises, visiting her sister in CA, going to the Netherlands and church bus trips. Claire enjoyed helping others which made her a caring and compassionate registered nurse. She also helped others through charitable donations to numerous organizations such as St. Jude’s and Feed the Hungry. Above all else, Claire loved her family. Together with the love of her life Romeo, they raised their children and then enjoyed cherished moments with the grandchildren. Claire always wanted to stay connected with her grandchildren and did what she could to keep involved in their lives. She was a fiercely independent woman who was beautiful on the inside and out and will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
She leaves her children John Bossi and his wife Darlene, Patrice Bossi, Michael Bossi and his wife Joan and Lynn Litwinczyk and her husband Michael; her grandchildren Jennifer, Kristina, Jonathan and Matthew Bossi, Lauren, Michaela, and Michael Bossi and William, Colton and Rebecca Litwinczyk; her sister Ida Bousquet; her sister-in-law Rosalie Avery; along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Eugene Bousquet.
A celebration of Claire’s life will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 beginning at 10:30 a.m. from the O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville/Bristol and will proceed to St. Gregory the Great Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Committal services will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
