The Bristol Blues were victorious tonight in a statement win against the Torrington Titans, taking the game by a score of 8-3. Izzy Fuentes (Faulker University) got the start tonight coming in with a 1.98 ERA and did not disappoint. After running into early troubles, Izzy was able to get through five innings of work allowing only two runs, earning his second win this season. Frankie Gregoire’s (Marist) bat continued to contribute in a big way, going 2-3 with a walk, two runs scored and two RBI’s. He opened the scoring for the Blues with a long double off the right-center wall in the first, scoring two on the hit. His big day brings his average on the season to .313. Sebastian DiMauro (Hartford) was lights out in relief yet again getting the last 12 outs of the game, allowing one run. The win brings the Blues record back to .500 (13-13). The Blues are back at Muzzy Field tomorrow for a doubleheader (First game at 4:30, second game immediately following end of first game) against their rivals, the Worcester Bravehearts with a fireworks display (courtesy of the City of Bristol) after the game. It was a capacity crowd on hand tonight, with a final attendance of 3,125.
