‘Wish You Were Here’ benefit concert for scholarship set for July 16

The 8th annual AJR Nocera “Wish You Were Here” benefit concert will be held on July 16, 9pm, at the Maple Tree Cafe, 781 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury.

Proceeds for this event benefit the AJR Nocera Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of AJ and David “Jr” Nocera.

An “All Star Band”  will be performing “Led Zeppelin III” (1970) and Led Zeppelin’“Presence (1976) albums in their entirety. The All Star band consists of drummer Andy Chatfield (Stanley Maxwell and the Future Heavies), guitarist Jeffrey Howard (a founding member of the McLovins), guitarist Matt Splain (Jean-Claude Trans/AM), keyboard player Glen Nelson (Spaghetti Cake and High Adventure), guitarist Shawn Persinger (Future Heavies, Prester John, and Boud Deun), bassist Joe Casillo (11twelve13 and The Luck Pushers), and vocalist Sarah LeMieux (sang in the Led Zeppelin I and II performances), and harmonica player Joe Neckbone.

Ticket price is $10. There also is a cash bar and raffle. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
