The Bristol Blues were unable to snap out of their recent skid, dropping their third consecutive game to the North Shore Navigators by a score of 10-2, bringing their record to 13-16 on the season. This one was a tale of pitching defense (or a lack thereof), as the Blues tallied only two official errors on the day, but played very spotty defense throughout. Teddy Carey got the start for the Blues, throwing five innings with four hits and five runs (only one ER). The Blues’ bats were silent, with the exception of Ty Roberts, who once again put on a show both at the dish and in the field. Roberts (Augusta) finished the game 3-3 with an RBI, playing exceptional defense at short, including a full-extension diving play on a line drive to save a run in the 5th inning. His big day brings his average on the season to .325. The Blues make the trip to Martha’s Vineyard tomorrow for a 7 PM start, looking to get back on track. On Friday, the Blues will host “Bring Back the Whalers Night” at Muzzy Field, as we welcome numerous special guests for this big night.
