Obituaries: Lucien Armand Leger

Lucien Armand Leger, 80, of Bristol, widower of Shirley A. Leger, passed away at Bristol Hospital on Tuesday (July 5, 2016). Lucien was born in Norwich on August 4, 1935 to the late Ferdinand and Bernadette (Benoit) Leger. After school Lucien joined the Marine Corps where he served proudly during the Korean Conflict. After returning home he spent his career working at New Departure as a machinist. When he wasn’t working, Lucien enjoyed being outside, whether it was fishing, hunting or riding his can-am motorcycle. Most of all he loved his dogs, Gunnie and Sarge. Lucien is survived by his daughter, Lonnie Mikkelson; grandchildren: Holly Kenney-Arbitelle, Bryan Kenney; nephew: Chris Yard; cousin: Nick Raponey and a few nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Lucien was pre-deceased by his brothers: Norman and John Leger. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Ann Church, 215 West St., Bristol, CT 06010 at 10AM on Monday (July 11, 2016). There will be no calling hours and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Funk Funeral Home is assisting the family.
