Obituaries: John P. Levesque

John P. Levesque, 77, of Bristol, loving husband of Deanne (Beckwith) Levesque, died Friday (July 8, 2016) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, Hartford. John was born in Bristol on October 20, 1938 and was a son of the late Paul E. and Congetta (Borgio) Levesque. He resided in Bristol all of his life and retired from New Departure-Hyatt Division of General Motors in 1992 as a Senior Process Engineer. John graduated from Bristol High School and General Motors Institute as an Engineer. John, along with his wife Deanne, was involved in the design of the Revolutionary War monument located on the Memorial Boulevard in Bristol and he was active in the restoration of the two ancient Bristol cemeteries.   He was a member of St. Ann Church, Bristol Fish and Game Club, and was an avid fisherman. In addition to his wife, John is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, John P. Levesque of New Hartford, Michael and Dawn Levesque of Wolcott, and David and Tonda Levesque of Rapid City, SD; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul N. and Lorraine Levesque of Columbus, OH and Louis and Beth Levesque of Southington; five grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kassie Levesque. A memorial service will be held at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Wednesday (July 13, 2016) at 11 AM.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
