Obituaries: Eugene J. ‘Butch’ Simiatkoski

Siemiatkoski, Eugene small 001 Eugene J. “Butch” Siemiatkoski, 80, of Bristol, beloved husband of Judith (Navarette) Siemiatkoski, died Monday (July 11, 2016) in Salisbury, MD after a brief illness.  Butch was born in Terryville on May 20, 1936 and was a son of the late Raymond and Sabina (Walasiewicz) Siemiatkoski.  Raised in Terryville, he graduated from Terryville High School in 1954 and then joined the United States Air Force.  He worked at the family business, Terryville Bakery, for many years and he also worked at Managed Transportation until his retirement.  Butch was a parishioner of St. Gregory Church in Bristol and a member of the Bristol Polish Club.  He enjoyed playing card games and going to breakfast on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with his friend Dave Reid.   In his earlier years he enjoyed bowling and golfing.  He most enjoyed attending his grandsons’ ball games and his granddaughter’s dance, pom, cheerleading and gymnastics activities.    In addition to his wife of 54 years, Eugene is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Susan and Carlo Leone and Deborah and David Lissy; a son and daughter-in-law: Daniel and Patty Siemiatkoski; six grandchildren: Daniel and Jena Siemiatkoski, Jessica and Michael Leone, and Bradley and Eric Lissy; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Raymond and Hildegard Siemiatkoski, Robert and Anne Siemiatkoski, and Richard and Muffy Siemiatkoski; a sister: Carole Kozikowski; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law; Joanne and Henry Camosse; and a brother-in-law: Benjamin Kozikowski.   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (July 19, 2016) at 10 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol to St. Gregory Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM, with military honors to follow.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
