City testing LED street lights

The City of Bristol is currently testing LED street lights at several locations in Bristol. The City of Bristol eventually intends to replace the city’s 5,500 existing street lights with LED type fixtures in order to increase energy efficiency and reduce maintenance costs. The city is currently evaluating several types and manufactures of LED light fixtures.

Utility poles with LED lights have been marked with orange ribbon. The LED lights have been installed at the following locations:

Barnes Street west of Tulip Street

Main Street South of Riverside Avenue

North Main Street South of Riverside Avenue

Willis Street north of Northmont Road Extension

West Street between Gridley and Upson Streets

Mattatuck Road
