Obituaries: Renald ‘Chico’ Michaud

Renald “Chico” Michaud, 59, of Bristol, died on Saturday (July 16, 2016) at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford.  Chico was born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada on April 4, 1957 and was a son of Agatha (Deschenes) Michaud of Bristol and the late Omer Michaud.  He came to Bristol at age six where he attended local schools and worked as a carpenter in the area.  Chico enjoyed inviting his family and friends to his cook-outs, and enjoyed gardening and tending to his vegetables.  He played softball for several years at Bristol Slo-Pitch and was an avid Red Sox and Giants fan.  In addition to his mother, Chico is survived by a brother: Roger Michaud of Harwinton; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Linda and Jess Monsam of Blairsville, GA, and Nancy Michaud of South China, ME; his fiancée: Janice Ouellette of Bristol; eight nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews; and his adored pet, Pocket.  Funeral services and entombment in Holy family Mausoleum will be private and at the convenience of the family.  There are no calling hours.
