Obituaries: Louis P. Cote

 

Louis P. Cote, 99, of Casa Grande, AZ, a former Bristol, CT resident, husband of the late Alfreda (Doucette) Cote, died Tuesday, July19, 2016 at the Oasis Pavilion, Casa Grande, AZ. Louie was born in Grand Isle, ME, November 28, 1916 and was a son of the late Paul and Agnes (Martin) Cote. He resided in Bristol for 62 years before moving to Casa Grande, AZ in 2007. While living in Bristol, Louie owned and operated Cote Luncheonette for 23 years before retiring in 1975. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of Palos Council #35 Knights of Columbus, Bristol, St. Ann Church, Bristol and the League of Sacred Heart Society of the church. He also was a life member and past president of the Le Club Franco American de Bristol. Louie is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Sylvia Cote of Casa Grande, AZ; six grandchildren, Jocelyn and Monique Cote, Kelly and Brian Johnson, and Scott and Heidi Cote; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Louie was predeceased by a son, Philip Cote, a daughter, Nancy Johnson and five sisters, Claire Chase, Beatrice Carrier, Lucille Fongemie, Teresa Karpenski and Patricia Cyr; and one brother, Bertrand Cote. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016, 9 A.M. from the Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol to St. Ann Church 215 West St., Bristol for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M.  Burial, with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Bristol.
