Joan Marie (Doyle) Doolittle, 87, of Bristol, wife of Allen Doolittle passed away peacefully at home on July 31, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on Nov. 19, 1928 in Pequabuck, Conn.  Besides her husband Allen of 66 years, she leaves behind her nine children (and their spouses):  Donna (Leonard) LaFleur, Darlene (Thomas) Bruni, Keith (Julie), Diane (James) Finn, Kevin (Kimberly), Denise (Kelly) Beaudoin, Kenneth (Jena), Dawn (Carl) Primo, and Kurt (Amy).  Also left to mourn are her brother, Kenneth (Bonnie) Doyle, several grandchildren, great-children, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sisters Eleanor and Leona, and her brother Lawrence.

Her family would like to thank her live-in caretaker (Bessie), who became like family; a special friend, Pat; and her doctors and previous caretakers.

There will be no calling hours (per Joan’s wishes). Family and friends were invited to celebrate her life at St. Gregory Church, Maltby St, Bristol on Wednesday, Aug. 3.  Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Scott Funeral Home in Terryville was in charge of funeral arrangements.
