The parade isn’t until Sept. 25, but groups and organizations are encouraged to reserve a spot now for this year’s edition of the Bristol Mum Parade. This year’s theme is “Bristol – Best Kept Secrets.” Parade organizers note in a press release that this theme “provides a great way for groups to promote themselves to a large audience, as the Mum Parade is one of the biggest parades in the state each fall.”
Schools, marching bands, clubs, churches, fire departments, scout groups, dancers, veterans’ groups, musical and theater groups, local businesses, car enthusiasts, and many more community organizations and individuals will take part in the 55th annual parade, stepping off at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25. Advance registration is required by Sept. 1. Several float entries have been received already but there is room for many more. There will be awards for floats and marching bands. You do not need to be a Bristol group or organization to be in the Mum Parade.
Groups may register online anytime at bristolmumfestival.com/mum-parade (or go to the main festival page at www.bristolmumfestival.com and look for the parade application link).
