Library’s history room will hold select hours on Saturdays

In addition to its regular hours, the Bristol Public Library’s local history room will be open from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the following Saturdays: Sept. 17, Oct. 15, Nov. 12, and Dec. 10. The room has books, pictures and postcards, maps, diaries, church and assessor’s records, newspapers on microfilm, cemetery, birth, death and marriage indexes, city directories and yearbooks. On permanent display in the Bristol History Room are nearly a hundred historic images including an entire wall devoted to Lake Compounce. There is a temporary exhibit of Bristol made clocks and New Departure bells.
