Obituaries: Rose A. Maynard

Rose A. (Massaro) Maynard, 90, of Bristol, widow of Eugene E. Maynard, died Monday, September 12, 2016, at Sheriden Woods Health Care Center, Bristol. Rose was born in Bristol on December 19, 1925, and was a daughter of the late Emil and Carmelia (Tricarico) Massaro. She resided in Bristol all her life and graduated from Bristol High School and Grace New Haven Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Prior to retiring, Rose was employed at the Bristol, Hospital for ten years and then for Dr. David Hershey for 15 years. She was a member of St. Anthony Church, Bristol and the church Rosary Society. Rose is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Stanley Skarb of Berlin; a sister, Ora Massaro of Bristol; a brother-in-law and his wife, Charles and Margaret Maynard of Avon; a sister-in-law, Rose Toscano of Bristol; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Rose was predeceased by two sisters, Marie Ciarmella and Amelia Massaro. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016, 9 A.M. from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Anthony Church, Bristol for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 6 P.M.
