Obituaries: Norman J. “Jolly” Gelineau

Norman J. “Jolly” Gelineau, 91, of Bristol, husband of Georgette D. (Dupuis) Gelineau, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Ingraham Manor, Bristol.  Jolly was born in Holyoke, MA on January 10, 1925 and was a son of the late Adrian and Annette (Mailhot) Gelineau.  He was a lifelong Bristol resident, a United States Navy Veteran, serving during WWII and retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Southington.  Jolly was an avid golfer and enjoyed painting.  He was a member of St. Ann Church, Bristol and the League of Sacred Heart. Besides his wife of 70 years, Jolly is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Phillip Gelineau, of Unionville, Kenneth Gelineau and Yvonne Arlington, of New Smyrna Beach, FL; a daughter: Joycie Petersen, of Southington; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a daughter: Lisa D’lugos; a daughter-in-law: Linda Gelineau; a brother: Roland Gelineau and a sister: Alice Brissette.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (September 21, 2016), 9 AM from the Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave, Bristol to St Ann Church, 215 West St., Bristol for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM.  Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.  Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday between 4 and 7 PM.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Carolyn’s Place, 137 Grandview Ave, Waterbury, CT 06708.  Please visit Jolly’s memorial web site at www.FUNKFUNERALHOME.com  gelineau-norman-002
