Roger E. Chiasson, 76, of Bristol, husband of the late Joan (Hinchcliffe) Chiasson who passed away in 1999 died suddenly at home on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. He was born October 8, 1939 in Bristol and was a son of the late Eusebe and Catherine (Gauthier) Chiasson. He was a machinist for 39 years at New England Aircraft, now Doncaster, in Farmington. After his retirement, he was a part-time driver for BCO Dial-a-Ride. Roger enjoyed watching all of his grandchidrens’ sporting events and they knew he was their biggest fan. Roger is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Atty. Roger E. and Robin Chiasson, II of Bristol, a daughter Gretchen M. Chiasson of Bristol, a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Arthur Redman of Bristol, a brother-in-law, Francis Hinchcliffe, and his wife Claudette of Bristol, three grandsons, Nicholas Chiasson and his fiancée Samantha Dobrowolski, Ryan Chiasson and Benjamin Chiasson and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his partner since 2000, Betty Dauphinee of Bristol and the extended family of Dauphinees, Pauls, and Skippers, including grandchildren Doug, Megan, Dan, Morgan, Brooke, James, Drew, Jacob, Olivia, Luke, Chase and Harper, all who knew Roger as their “Pepere”. Besides his wife and parents, Roger was predeceased by a son, Michael R. Chiasson, a sister, Leona Komoroski and a nephew Timothy Redman, who passed away in July of this year. His funeral will be held Monday, September 26, 2016 at 9am from DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, followed by a mass at 10am in St. Joseph Church, 33 Queen St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Calling hours will be held Sunday evening from 5:30-7:30 pm at the funeral home.
