David D. Zimbouski, 79, of Whiting, New Jersey passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016, in Brick, New Jersey.
David was born, December 17, 1936, in Bristol to the late Frank W. and Brunette Mary (Tartarelli) Zimbouski. He graduated from Goodwin Technical School, as a tool and dye maker and was a star basketball player. He enlisted in the USMC in 1957 and served his country proudly as a Marine. David moved to New Jersey in 1982, where he worked, enjoyed fishing and the Jersey shores.
David was a lifelong sports enthusiast and a dedicated Boston Red Sox fan. He was happy to live to see them win the World Series. He loved horses and horseracing and playing pinochle with his best friend. In his later years, he became an avid reader of suspense, history and biographies. One of his simple joys in life was relaxing outdoors in the sunshine.
David is survived by his son: Michael Zimbouski, of New York City, NY; his sister and brother-in-law: Ann Marie and Roland Richard, of Bristol, sister: Kathleen Schubert, of Southington; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
David loved his son and family. We will miss your immense love for all of us, sense of humor, fight for life and beautiful heart.
Funeral services will be celebrated at St. Gregory Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol on Saturday (November 5, 2016) at 10:30 AM. Burial, with military honors, will follow with a procession to St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Funk Funeral Home is assisting David’s family.
