There will be two new representatives for the city at next June’s Miss Connecticut Scholarship Pageant.

The Miss Bristol-Forestville Scholarship Program crowned new title holders on Saturday at Chippens Hill Middle School.

Erika Farrell is the new Miss Forestville. Gina Salvatore was crowned Miss Bristol.

Additionally, two representatives heading to the Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen competition were named. Cassandra Lechner is the new Miss Forestville’s Outstanding Teen. Victoria Kilbourne is the new Miss Bristol’s Outstanding Teen.

The local pageant is part of the Miss America Organization.

Farrell is not new to the Bristol community, having served as Miss Forestville’s Outstanding Teen several years ago.

“It’s so great (to win Miss Forestville) because in the past three years— since being Miss Forestville’s Outstanding Teen—  I’ve matured so much and I’ve grown up so much,” said Farrell. “I can’t wait to be out in the community again, doing some of the same events but new events as well.”

Last June, Farrell competed as a Miss contestant for the first time. “I learned so much going to Miss Connecticut last year so I know what to bring to the table (for next June). I’m going to up my game. It’s hard competing against girls who are four years older than you. But I know what to bring this time and I’m ready to represent Forestville.”

Salvatore, who also is a previous representative for the city, said, “It is incredible (to win Miss Bristol). It’s such a great feeling. I’m so excited. Bristol has been one of my favorite titles. All of my appearances in Bristol two years ago, I can’t wait to expand upon that, work with new people, and get the job done as Miss Bristol. I’m so excited.”

Salvatore has competed for Miss Connecticut for several years. She said she enjoys holding a title because “the service aspect of the organization. All of this really fills my soul like nothing else does. That’s why I keep coming back.”

And of the upcoming events in Bristol, Salvatore said, she’s most looking forward to the annual Chocolate Expo. “We get to sample everything.”

First runner-up for Miss Forestville was Brooke Cyr. First runner-up for Miss Bristol was Joanna Shields.

Miss Congeniality was Jocelyn Sirko.

Overall talent award went to Cyr.

The community service awards went to Salvatore and Shields.

Also competing in Miss Forestville were Courtney Ouellette and Rosalinda Tufano.

The other contestants vying for Miss Bristol were Tiara Owens and Antonella Vazquez.

Giving up their titles at Saturday’s event were Miss Forestville Allison Owsianko, Miss Bristol Christina Judd, Miss Forestville’s Outstanding Teen Allison Duffy and Miss Bristol’s Outstanding Teen Taylor Plourd.
