To the editor: Too few young people run for public office in our state. As someone who ran my first race for state representative at age 25, I know personally all the barriers young people find when they try and break into the old boy’s club of politics.
But this election, voters in Bristol have an opportunity to vote for a hard-working young woman and lifelong Bristol resident, Laura Bartok. Laura is a close friend. She worked for me when I was representing Connecticut’s 5th District in Congress and I witnessed how dedicated she was to serving people who needed help from our office. I know she will work just as hard, and with as much dedication, for Bristol residents if elected to represent the 77th district.
I urge everyone to go out on Tuesday, Nov. 8, and vote Laura Bartok for state representative.
