Obituaries: Raymond J. Cyr

Raymond J. “Ray” Cyr, 77, of Bristol, husband of 55 years to Dorothy (Plourde) Cyr, passed away on Friday (October 28, 2016) at his home.  Ray was born in Grand Isle, ME on October 7, 1939 and was a son of the late Carrice and Georgianna (Pelletier) Cyr.  Ray was raised in Van Buren, ME and has lived in Bristol since 1955.  He was a Union Carpenter and retired from Partition Inc., after 38 years of service.  Ray enjoyed working around the yard and spending time with his grandchildren.  Besides his wife, Ray is survived by a son: Shane Cyr, of Southington; a daughter: Gail Cyr, of Plainville; a brother: Claude Cyr, of Springfield, MA; two sisters: Loretta Cyr and Jackie Weezner   both of Windsor Locks; two grandchildren: Amber and Jake Cyr; two great-grandchildren: Alexia and Aiden and several nieces and nephews.  Ray was predeceased by 15 siblings.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday (November 2, 2016) 10 AM at St. Matthew Church, 120 Church Ave., Bristol.  Entombment will follow at the Holy Family Mausoleum in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. There are no calling hours and the Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol is in care of the arrangements.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech ctr.
