Obituaries: Dolores Cornetski

Cornetski, Dolores (Dee Dee) Ann, died on Dec. 1, 2016, at Bristol Hospital, Bristol, CT, with her devoted sister, Patty, by her side. Dee Dee was born in Bristol on April 6, 1933. She was predeceased by her mother, Alice, and her Father, Henry. Dee Dee was an amazing person, who overcame many life challenges and medical problems with a positive spirit and a smile for everyone. She was a wonderful cook and housekeeper. She had favorite TV shows – “soap operas”, the Hallmark Channel, and never missed the UCONN girls’ basketball games. Dee Dee’s favorite holiday was Christmas, with her decorations always up and ready by Thanksgiving. Dee Dee is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Ed Maher of Bristol; her brother and sister-in-law Tom and Fran Cornetski of Virginia; two nieces Pam Hanscom of Indiana and Colleen Britt of Virginia; two nephews Ted Maher of Florida and Gregg Cornetski of Virginia, and three great nieces Kayt and Hannah Hanscom of Indiana and Kelsey Britt of Virginia. Dee Dee’s family extends their sincere thanks to her cousin, Mary Larson, of Bristol for being there for Dee Dee over many years; Sister Dolores Beshara for visiting Dee Dee weekly and giving her spiritual support and human friendship; her caregiver, Ann Smith, for her tireless attention to Dee Dee’s physical and emotional well-being; and Dr. Jack Adler and his staff for their caring treatment. There will be no calling hours and burial will be private. A “Celebration of Life” Mass will be held at a date to be announced later. DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Ave, Bristol, is in charge of the arrangements.
