Obituaries: Marie D. Legere

Marie D. (DeNote) Legere, 86, of Bristol, widow of Joseph Legere, died on Tuesday (December 6, 2016) at Countryside Manor. Marie was born on October 8, 1930 in Bristol and was one of two daughters of the late Frank and Lila (Newman) DeNote

 

She was a lifelong Bristol resident where she graduated from Bristol High School.  Early on, she was Spark Carpenter’s secretary for going to work for Superior Electric retiring after 25 years of service.

 

 

 

Marie loved her family.  She was one of her son, Keith’s, biggest fan when he played drums for different area bands and could often be found front row center at some of the local establishments.  She also enjoyed shopping and the times Keith took her out on motorcycle rides.

 

 

 

Marie leaves her son and daughter-in-law: Keith and Jacqueline Legere of Bristol; three granddaughters:  Stacey Legere and her daughter (Marie’s great-granddaughter) AnnMarie Bouchard, Tammy Smith, and Dawn Flanagan; along with nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister, Josephine LaMothe.  A celebration of her life will take place on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the One Accord Chapel, 54 Talmadge St., Bristol, with Pastor Paul Anderson officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  There are no calling hours.
