Obituaries: Dawn C. Lanteri

Dawn C. (Choiniere) Lanteri, 54, of Bristol, died peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday (December 14, 2016) at Bristol Hospital after a brief illness.  Dawn was born in Bristol on August 19, 1962 and was one of three children of Armand J. “Bud” Choiniere of Bristol and the late Patricia (Kelley) Choiniere.  She was a lifelong Bristol resident where she attended local schools and graduated from Bristol Central High School.  A medical transcriptionist at Bristol Hospital for 15 years, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was a voracious reader, always with a book nearby.   Dawn was a daughter, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a cousin, and a friend to many people.  She loved her children, Tony and Kayla, and she absolutely adored her grandson, Hunter.  Her struggles were many and they were difficult battling every day.  In her own way, she had the heart of a lion and would give a stranger the shirt off her back to help them.  Her new wings have freed her from the struggles and pain, reuniting her with her mother and brother and her beloved little Pug, Shadow.  Dawn leaves her father, Armand; a son: Tony Lanteri of Clinton; a daughter, Kayla Lanteri, and her fiancé, James Norman, of Bristol; her sister and brother-in-law: Sharon and William Kenney of Bristol; and she was Nana to her grandson, Hunter.   She was predeceased by her mother and her brother: Ronald Choiniere.   Funeral services will be held on Monday (December 19, 2016) at 1 PM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Bristol.  Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home on Monday between 11:30 AM and 1 PM.  Walk in peace with God, we will always hold you close in our hearts.  Please visit Dawn’s memorial web-site at
