Obituaries: Raymond J. Poulin

Raymond J. Poulin, 71, of Bristol, died at his home on Saturday (April 29, 2017). Raymond was born on November 26, 1945 in St. Evariste-de-Frosyth, PQ, Canada to the late Aurelien and Florence Poulin. Raymond’s work was his passion and he enjoyed a fulfilling career as a lumberjack.  When he wasn’t working he loved to be with his family and friends and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a genuinely kind soul and was always there to lend a helping hand. Raymond is survived by his longtime companion, Jeannette Mercier of Bristol and her daughters: Lise Holiday, Diane Jacquette, and Danielle Mercier all of Bristol; Raymond’s sisters: Helene Langevin, Diane Grondin, and Suzanne Bolduc, all of Quebec, Canada; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, CT 06010 on Friday (May 5, 2017) between 5 and 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 AM at St. Joseph Church, 33 Queen St., Bristol, CT 06010 on Saturday (May 6, 2017). Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
