Jane was born Dec. 2, 1934 in Bluffton, OH, to John and Isabel (Faze) McKinney who preceded her in death. On September 13, 1957 she married her loving husband Kenneth D. Parish Sr. who survives.
In 1952 Jane graduated from Elida High School and continued her education at Ohio Northern where she was later employed. She was member at Van Buren Methodist Church and active in their Women’s ELPH group. Jane worked as a bookkeeper while remaining dedicated to her growing family. After moving to Bristol, CT in 1968 she was employed at Fireman’s Fund Ins for many years. Jane was an energetic spirit of support in her children’s lives. She was involved in The Boy’s & Girl’s Clubs, Little League, BEHS Boosters as well as an enthusiastic spectator at sporting events and competitions. After her children graduated, Jane ventured out as a successful business owner. In Bristol, she operated a Beauty Salon and The Goodwin St Market which offered an extensive delivery service for the elderly. Most recently, Fairview Golf Course in Findlay, OH which she undertook with her husband Kenn. Jane thoroughly enjoyed serving the public with the deepest compassion while sharing stories, meeting people & making friends. Her favorite hobbies were knitting, cards, bowling and golf.
Jane’s greatest passion in life was the love for her family. She continued to prepare Sunday dinner for them each week until just shortly before her passing. Upon conclusion of her journey of loyalty to God and her family here on earth, Jane donated her body to the University of Toledo College of Medicine & Life Sciences.
In addition to her dedicated husband, Jane is survived by her children, Sue Read of Findlay, OH, Kenneth Parish Jr. and Steven Parish Sr. both of Bristol, CT, Jacqueline Parish and Tony Parish, both of Findlay, OH, grandchildren, Jessyca (Michael) Parish-Olson of North Haven, CT, Steven Vince (Tera) Parish Jr. of Austin, TX, Ariana Read of Toledo, OH, Sara Jane Parish of Bristol, CT, also great-grandchildren, Ellias Anguiano, Ayden, A’ylah and Are’May Read. Siblings, John McKinney, Bill (Esther) McKinney, Rodney (Marilyn) McKinney, Diana Jo Miller, Donna Jean Jones, Tim (Velma) McKinney, sisters-in-law, Joyce McKinney, Connie Crowell, Bonnie (Bill) Hollar, and many fond nieces and nephews.
Jane is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Taryn Parish, siblings, Dorothy Janet Hesseling, Tom McKinney, Bob McKinney, brothers-in-law Don Hesseling, Bruce Miller and Phil Jones, sisters-in-law Peggy Paine and Sally Wolfe and her devoted Mother-in-law Martha Parish.
A memorial service to celebrate her loving spirit will be held on a later date for extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Bridge Home Health & Hospice and The American Heart Association.
