Obituary: Leo Truncalli, 87

Leo Truncalli, 87, of Bristol, husband of Mary (Perlotto) Truncalli, passed away peacefully at his home on May 4, 2019. With a heavy and broken heart, we say good-bye to a gentle, kind, and loving man. Born in Hartford, CT, on June 5, 1932, he was the son of the late Victor and Pauline (Augello) Truncali. In addition to his wife Mary of 67 years, Leo is survived by his loving children Kathleen and Joseph Deegan of Indianapolis, IN, and Deborah and William Geiger of Bristol, CT. He leaves five adoring grandchildren, Carlene Geiger Fiorito and her husband Justin, Timothy Geiger, Tiffany Deegan, Christopher Deegan, and Marissa Deegan and her partner Spencer Flowers. He leaves three precious great-grandchildren Joshua, Olivia, and Matthew Fiorito. He also leaves his sisters Pearl Terry Cavanaugh and her husband Thomas, and Josephine Russo (her husband Carmelo passed in Dec. 2018) as well as several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and God Children. Leo retired from New Departure – Hyatt Division of General Motors after 31 years of service. He loved the New York Yankees and the New York Giants and thoroughly enjoyed working in his garden. The family would like to extend a special thank you for the kind and loving care given by Synergy Home Care of Bristol and VITAS Hospice. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, May 9, at St. Anthony Church, 111 School St., Bristol, at 11am. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Calling hours will be Thursday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 at DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Ave., Bristol.
