Brass and Wind Ensemble to perform at Bushnell Dec. 17


The Bristol Brass and Wind Ensemble will be performing as the special guests of the Travelers Chorale on Thursday, Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. for a concert themed “Musical Sleigh Ride.” The concert will be at the Bushnell Theater, Mortensen Hall, 166 Capitol Ave., Hartford.

The Bristol Brass and Wind Ensemble has been Greater Bristol’s Community Band since 1996 and has been under the baton of Richard Theriault since the summer of 2009 . The group of over 60 volunteer musicians come from the greater Bristol area.  The age of the players rage from 12 (a very mature and talented student) to over 75 years of age.  The group has a very varied mix of people.  Their day jobs include music educators and professional musicians seated next to doctors, students, accountants, retirees, school bus drivers and people of most any profession and walk of life you can think of.
The Travelers Chorale is under the direction of Kenneth Ferris.

The Travelers concert is free and open to the public.  The audience is asked to bring non-perishable food items as donations for the concert.

Bristol Brass and Wind Ensemble will also be performing with the Bristol Choral Society, as directed by Kenneth Ferris , on Sunday , Dec. 13 , 4 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic High School School.BBWE Media
