Dems plan fund raiser dinner Sept. 18; Dems meet Sept. 10

The Plainville Democratic Town Committee has announced that its fall fund raiser will be a Pasta Dinner on Friday, Sept. 18 at Lola’s Bistro and Grill at 161 Woodford Ave. in Plainville. A silent auction will also be featured. The dinner will take place 6 to 8:30 p.m. Those interested in attending can request more information by calling (860)402-3873 or emailing plainvilledtc@ gmail.com.

Committee chairperson Rosemary Morante stated in a press release from the Democrats, “We are looking forward to the Sept. 18 pasta dinner, which will be our major event of the year. We are also very pleased to be supporting local business by being able to have the dinner at Lola’s, a new restaurant here in Plainville.”

Volunteers who will be working with the candidates on this fall’s campaign have also been announced. They are Maria Portal, Todd Cello and Rob Cayer for signs, Darren Sechrist and Bernadette Dostaler on communications, and Jeff Blanchette and Val Dumais for voter outreach assistance. Fund raiser committee members include Becky and Rich Ireland, Rob Michalik, Diane Sperry, Joe Klepacki, and Cheryl Provost.

Democrats will be opening their 2015 headquarters on 11 Pine St. in Plainville in early September. The next Democratic Town Committee meeting will be held at the new headquarters on Thursday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m.

Democratic-endorsed candidates for Town Council are Quinn Christopher, Christopher Wazorko, Patrick Kilby, Anthony Tarascio, and Rosemary Morante. Foster White, Michael Verrett, and Crystal St. Lawrence are running for Board of Education. Constable candidates are Jason Rupaka, Kathleen Michalik, Richard Ireland, and Robert Ciotto. Patricia Fongemie is running for Library Trustee.
