Bristol police to hold Tip-A-Cop event at 99 Nov. 18

The Bristol Police Department and 99 Restaurant are teaming up to support Special Olympics Connecticut by hosting a Tip-A-Cop event on Monday, Nov. 18 at the 99 Restaurant, 827 Pine St., Bristol from 5 to 8 p.m. All are invited to come out and enjoy officers taking orders instead of giving orders to benefit the organization. Police will don aprons and serve meals to restaurant patrons for the evening, working alongside 99 Restaurant employees.
All tips they receive will help support local Special Olympics athletes.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Connecticut is one of the movement’s largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicles. This year-round program involves law enforcement officers from across the state who volunteer their time to raise awareness and funds through Tip-A-Cop, Cop-on-Top, and Jail n’ Bail events and other charitable initiatives.
In 2012, The Torch Run raised over $500,000 for Special Olympics Connecticut, which is celebrating 45 years.
