Reception to welcome children’s librarian

There will be a public reception on Wednesday July 17 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for Kimberly White, who has started working at the Plainville Library in June as the new children’s librarian and assistant director.
White previously worked as the children’s services librarian at the Otis Public Library in Norwich. She is a member of the American Library Association, the New England Library Association and the Connecticut Library Association. She won the Faith Hekton Award for developing an outstanding program for children in the spring. The Friends of the Plainville Public Library will co-sponsor the event.
The reception was planned so that parents and children from Plainville could welcome her to the library.  The program for children, “Hooked in Llamas,” featuring a live llama, will immediately follow the reception.
