Hobby Lobby opening in Bristol Oct. 6

Hobby Lobby Stores, a privately held national retail chain of craft and home decor stores, opens in Bristol with a ribbon cutting ceremony and official grand opening celebration on Monday, Oct. 6, at 9 a.m. The Bristol store is Hobby Lobby’s second location in Connecticut. Edward Koslow is the store manager of the 48,000 square-foot retail facility located at Farmington Avenue & Stafford Avenue, in Bristol Farms Plaza.

The store’s grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony is open to the public. Local dignitaries, ambassadors from the Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce and other business leaders will attend the celebration.

“Customers new to Hobby Lobby will see that we are very unique and that no one in the craft and home decor market is like us. Area customers are anticipating the distinct shopping experience that we are bringing to the area. We’re tremendously excited about becoming a part of the community,” stated John Schumacher, assistant vice president of advertising in a press release.

Hobby Lobby offers more than 70,000 crafting and home decor products in its stores. Departments include floral, fabric, needle art, custom framing, baskets, home accents, wearable art, arts and crafts, jewelry making, scrapbooking and paper crafting supplies.

Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. All Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sunday.
