Police investigate convenience store robbery on Riverside Ave.

Bristol police are investigating a robbery that happened early this morning at the 7-11 convenience store on Riverside Avenue.

According to a press release from the Bristol Police Department, a male suspect walked into the store, approached the cashier from behind and struck him over the head with some type of object. Wearing a two-tone colored hoodie, the suspect then rifled through the register and fled with cash, the release said. The incident happened at 2:14 a.m., and the cashier sustained a minor injury, the release said.

Several officers responded to the scene, including a K-9 unit, but the suspect could not be found, the release said.
