Republicans announce candidates


The Plainville Republican Town Committee held its caucus on Wednesday, July 22 to endorse the candidates for the Nov. 3 municipal election.
Candidates for the Town Council are incumbents Kathy Pugliese, Scott Saunders, Danny Carrier, and Deborah Tompkins and newcomers Ty Cox.
“Ty Cox is one the youngest known candidate ever to run for Town Council. He is a student at Tunxis Community College in Farmington,” said a press release from the Republicans.
The Board of Education incumbents Laurie Peterson, Mike Giuliano, and Deborah Hardy were the endorsed candidates.
Incumbent Julia Underwood was endorsed for the Library Trustee. The incumbents for the position of Constable are Ezio Capozzi and Gail Pugliese; newcomers for Constables are Adam Bergenty and Roberta Lalama.
“We are pleased to endorse our incumbents and the newcomers running office for this fall campaign,” said party chair Helen Bergenty in a press release.
