State Representative Betty Boukus (D-Plainville) said in a press release that the school construction bill recently signed into law by Governor Dannel Malloy includes $600,000 for the demolition of Old Linden Street School.
Boukus noted the funding adds to the $1.5 million appropriated for the project by the Legislature in 2014, the release said.
“This was funding the town needed to move forward with the old Linden Street School project,” said Boukus in the release. “These dollars are significant, and I want to thank Governor Malloy for signing the bills to support the project.
The legislation broadens the scope of the project funding to include abatement and site restoration and improvement for site access, parking and connective areas to the new school, the release said.
